And have you heard about Kmart double coupons up to $2 making them worth up to $4.... our Kmart isn't participating but E-town is. I think it might be worth a trip! Check out a list of possibilities here.

My Last Minute Kroger Trip

So at 7pm this evening I realized this weeks Kroger sale had a couple of things I just couldn't miss out on and this is what I got:

2 Bags Birdseye Steamfresh Veggies $1 each less (2) $.35 cpn= $.60
1 Suave Kids Shampoo + 1 Suave Men's Shamp. $4.02 less $.50/2 cpn= $3.02
1 18ct Always Infinity Pad $5.49 less $1.00 Esaver cpn less $5.49 free cpn= +$1.00(I got $1!)
1 4ct RediServe Chicken Patties= $1.00
1 8ct Kroger Value Buns= $.88
1 Kroger Brand Picante Sauce=$1.00

I bought 11 items that totaled $18.20 (with tax) before coupons and paid only $8.22 for all of these!!! By the way, if you sign up for the free sample pack at http://www.beinggirl.com (click on the "Free Sample link) You will not only receive the free coupon for the Always Infinity Pads, but you will also get 2 Regular Tampax Pearl Tampons, 1 Lite Tampax Pearl Tampon, 1 Always Infinity Feminine Pad, 2 Always Pantiliners, and 1 Always Feminine Wipe! Definitely worth filling out the short form!

Beans a plenty

So this isn't a coupon deal but a great way to save money...

A bag of dry beans cost about $1 - $1.50 and when cooked up can make about six 16oz bags of cooked beans to freeze. I figure the best price on canned beans is about $.50 then I am saving about $1.50-$2 for each dry beans I cook.

Now some of you may already know this but some of you are thinking to cook dried beans takes way too much time and really grandmas are the only ones that cook beans - but it is actually really easy. There are quick soak methods that take an hour and then you can cook them in the crookpot for 4-6 hours and that's it! Bag and freeze. I like to do a bag of kidney, black and pinto beans all in one day and have 18 bags of beans in the freezer ready to use.

O and did you know that refried beans are just mashed and fried pinto beans (or black beans)? Here's a recipe from Food Network that I have tried and like.

Target Coupon Generator

Here are a couple of great deals you can get just by printing Target coupons from A Full Cup. And the best part is you can print as many as you want and the prices aren't based on sales so they are good next week too! These were tested on Friday so I know them to be true :-)

or
Market Pantry Fruit Bags (in checkout aisle) $.89 - $1 Target Coupon = Free!
:: expires 4/25 hurry!

Kraft Easy Mac meals $.89 - $1/2 Target Coupon = $.78/2 ... single cups

:: expires 4/25

Dry Idea Deodorant $2 - $2 printable = Free!
:: even if you don't use it get it and give it away

**Remember Target coupons can be combined with manufacturer coupons for great deals... be on the lookout

Cheap Purex - Sorry coupons gone :-(

If you don't make your own laundry soap ... or even if you do. This is a great deal!

"Click on Buy one Get one Free coupon for Purex Laundry detergent up to $7 use the zip code 45020 or 43123. These are on sale BOGO for $6.99 this week at CVS so you will get 2 free with this coupon - and you can print two from your computer!! "

So for $6.99 you can get 3 Purex laundry detergents or if you print 2 coupons you can get 6 Purex laundry detergents for $13.98. Awesome!

My First CVS trip

This was so fun today... I spend so much time reading blogs and gathering info that I run out of time to shop. So today I had 15mins before I needed to pick up Taylor and thought I would try my hand at CVS. I spent $5.10 out of pocket and walked away with 6 items and $3.99 ECB (CVS money to be used on next trip... which will be tomorrow :-) essentially costing me $1.11.

Terms to know:
SS - coupon comes from the SmartSource insert
oop - out of pocket money
ecb - extra CVS bucks, register printout to be used as CVS money on next purchase
filler - when paying with ecbs you must use the full value or lose it. So if you are purchasing an item that cost $2.99 and want to pay with ecbs worth $3.99 you need a "filler" item worth $1 to make up the difference so you don't loose money. They have a great $1 section in CVS to help with this.

Here's what I did

Transaction 1:
$4.99 :: Softsoap Scrub bodywash
- $.75 :: Softsoap scrub coupon SS3/29
$4.54 :: oop (including tax)

$4.99 :: recieved ecb for Softsoap

Transaction 2:
$3.99 :: Colgate 360 toothbrush
- $.75 :: Colgate Adult Manual or Powered Toothbrush coupon SS3/29
$1.00 :: Trail mix - filler
$1.00 :: Handsoap - filler
- $4.99 :: paid with ecbs from above
$.25 :: oop

$3.99 :: recieved ecb for toothbrush

Transaction 3:
$3.99 :: Colgate Sensitive whitening toothpaste
-$.75 :: Colgate toothpaste any coupon SS3/29
$1.00 :: Pear bar soap - filler
-$3.99 :: paid with ecbs from above
$.31 :: oop (including tax)

$3.99 :: recieved ecb for toothpaste - to be used another day

Here's the numbers
$18.03 worth in products
$5.11 oop
$3.99 ecb left

How about some free samples?

A while back Jana made a comment about a site called Shop 4 Freebies
They provide a daily list of free samples to sign up for and many come with great coupons. I signed up about a month ago. Taylor and I have lots of fun finding out what freebies come in the mail each day! Check it out - let me know what you think.

Also Mommy Snacks.net is a great coupon blog. She has compiled a list of freebies to sign up for here. I grabbed the Magic Erasers (moms best friend), Precious Places DVD, flixstix, free shower caddy, Idea paint (dry erase paint!)... I can't wait for the surprises in my mailbox!
